Planet Crafter: Fish Stage

 

The fish stage begins at 120 GTi. You need to unlock the water life collector to get phytoplankton and wild fish eggs from lakes to start breeding fish.

Water is starting to form pools in the Cascades around 220 GTi.

Most fish eggs found in the wild can also be produced using the incubator recipes. Fish can appear in deep water in portal maps.

Goals:

• The T1 aquarium unlocks at 120 GTi - build this to start generating animal biomass (you need fish eggs! - hint: buy them from the trade rocket to get started).
• The T2 gas extractor provides insignificant improvements to heat and pressure (compared to the T2 ore extractor or T4 heater for example), but allows you to choose which gas (oxygen, methane or nitrogen) will be extracted for a more reliable supply.
• Once you get the water life collector, build as many as you can in different lakes so you can get more types of fish.
• Get the ecosystem to provide a boost to plants and insects. It also generates up to 4 random insect larvae.
• Upgrade beehives to T2 ASAP to get more honey, a steady supply of bee larvae and a big boost to the Insects terraformation score.
• Use the portal generator (unlocks at 250 GTi) and various quartz to explore procedural wrecks and find rare new blueprints and items.
• The genetic extractor (unlocks at 800 t Insects) lets you extract genetic traits from flowers, larvae, fish eggs, frog eggs and quartz. Collect them all! These will be useful later for generating mammals.
• Upgrade butterfly farms to T2 butterfly farms for another big boost in Insects terraformation score.
• Upgrade ore extractors to T3 for important resources like super alloy, zeolite, sulfur and osmium.
